Joining SNEWGA

Attention Women Golfers...

  • Do you live in Connecticut or a neighboring state?

  • Do you enjoy playing at many different golf courses?

  • Do you enjoy meeting and competing with other women golfers?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should consider joining SNEWGA (Southern New England Women's Golf Assocation)

What is SNEWGA?
The Southern New England Women's Golf Association, organized in 1956, exists for the promotion of golf for women within the state of Connecticut and neighboring states.  SNEWGA membership is open to all women's associations from public, semi-private, and private golf clubs.  There is no handicap limit to join SNEWGA.  For tournaments, however, the handicap limit is in compliance with USGA handicap limitations for competitions.

  • SNEWGA is currently made up of 37 member clubs and over 1,000 individual members.

  • The cost of membership is $30 per club per annum and $10 for individual memberships.

  • Individual members must be members of a member club (see Option #1 under "HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER OF SNEWGA" below).

  • SNEWGA is affiliated with the United States Golf Association (USGA) and Connecticut State Golf Association (CSGA)

Tournaments

  • There are seven Major Tournaments each year and several invitational events.

  • Most clubs kick-off the season by participating in our better ball Spring Cup tournament and wind down the season in August/September in our team match play Fall Cup.

  • Each member club must host a tournament at least once every other year.

TWO OPTIONS TO BECOME A SNEWGA MEMBER

OPTION #1 (most common)

  • Join a ladies league that is an affiliated SNEWGA member club

  • After joining a ladies league of the club you choose, there is an additional yearly fee of $10 to be an annual member of SNEWGA.

To learn more about the ladies leagues at your local affiliated SNEWGA club, click the button below.  You may also contact SNEWGA's Membership VP, Donna Pauze, who will put an appropriate person in touch with you.

  Affiliated Member Clubs

OPTION #2 (for 2007)

  • SNEWGA also offers a one-time, one-year individual membership for those who don't have a club or ladies league affiliation.

  • The cost for a one-time, one-year individual membership is nominal for one year.  This is an introductory offer to help you determine if you like the SNEWGA organization.  We’re convinced that after a year of playing with us, you’ll decide to join SNEWGA as a regular member (as described in Option #1).

Note:  Members joining as individuals and not affiliated with any member club are not eligible to compete in "club team" events.
